Press Statements

The conferences noted that mineral exploitation has both environmental and social impacts some of them hazardous to human life and the ecosystem. There is emerging evidence in some active and potential mining areas that have not had Environmental Social Impact Assessment and Audits (ESIAA) and even in areas where it has been done, there is little information and engagement with the local communities on the same.
